ETAP is honored to have recently returned from a ten-day, four city tour of Spain. Performing in the beautiful cities of Toledo, Seville, Granada, and Madrid, ETAP’s Broadway dance revue was welcomed by some very gracious Spanish audiences. The show included classic American Musical Theatre songs from some of our favorite musicals, including A Chorus Line, Cabaret, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Sweet Charity, and many more.
Not only was ETAP privileged to perform in Spain, but we were also given a wonderful opportunity to explore the cities in which we performed. The performers met and played soccer with students from Toledo, took a Flamenco dance class after attending a professional Flamenco show in Seville, and were greeted by adoring audiences at the stage door in Granada and Madrid.
It was truly a trip of a lifetime. ETAP believes that being ambassadors for the United States, and the Washington, DC area is very important to the development of our young dancers’ appreciation and openness to different people and their cultures. Dance is a fantastic tool for cultural exchange and we hope to continue to share the American Musical Theatre with audiences abroad in the future.
